The arrest of Jesus · Nov 6, 10:39 PM by Ad van den Ende
While he was still speaking,
see, a crowd, and the one called Judas,
one of the twelve, was leading them,
and he approached Jesus to kiss him.
And Jesus said to him:
“Judas, with a kiss
τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδως;
you deliver the Son of Man?”
Seeing, those who were around him,
what would happen,
εἶπαν, Κύριε, εἰ πατάξομεν ἐν μαχαίρῃ;
they said, “Lord, if we will strike with (the) sword?”
and he struck, one of them,
the slave of the high priest,
and cut off his ear, the right one.
And answering, Jesus said:
“Stop it at that!”
And having touched the ear he healed him.
And Jesus said
to who had come to him,
chief priests and officers of the temple
and elders:
“As against a robber you have come out,
μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων;
with swords and sticks;
when I was each day
with you in the temple
you did not lay the hands on me,
but this is your hour,
and the power of the darkness!”
{Marcus 14, 50-54
And after leaving him all fled.
And a young man followed him,
dressed in a linen cloth only,
and they seized him,
but he, leaving his linen cloth behind,
ran off naked.}

After they had seized him they led him away,
and they brought (him) into the house of the high priest.
And Peter followed at a distance.
After lighting all around a fire
in the middle of the courtyard,
and after they sat down together
Peter sat in the midst of them.
After seeing him, a servant-girl,
while he was sitting in the light,
and having close seen him, said:
“Also this one was with him!”
But he denied, saying:
“I do not know him, woman.”
And after a short time
someone else, having seen him, said,
“Also you are one of them!”
But Peter said
“Man, I am not!“”
And after had elapsed about one hour
some other assured emphatically,saying:
“Really, also this man was with him,
for he is a Galilean.”
And Peter said:
“Man, I do not know what you say!”
And at the same time that he was speaking
there crew a cock.
And after turning the Lord
looked at Peter,
and Peter remembered
the word of the Lord,
how he had said to him:
“Before the cock has crowed today
you will deny me three times.”
And having gone out he wept bitterly.
And the men who were holding him
did mock him, beating (him),
And having blindfolded him
they asked (him), saying:
Προφήτευσον, τίς ἐστιν ὁ παίσας σε;
“Prophesy, who is it that struck you?”
And many other things, blaspheming,
they said to him.
Jesus is brought before the Council
And when the day had come
gathered together
the assembly of the elders of the people,
chief priests and scribes,
and they took him away
to their assembly,
saying: “If you are the Anointed,
tell us!”. He said them:
“If I tell you, you will not believe;
and if I will question
you will not answer.
69 ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν δὲ
And from now on
the Son of Man will be seated
at the right hand of the power of God.”
All (of them) said:
Σὺ οὖν εἶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ;
“So you are the Son of God?”
And he said to them:
“You say that I am.”
And they said:
Τί ἔτι ἔχομεν μαρτυρίας χρείαν;
“Why do we still need a testimony?
For ourselves we have heard (it)
from his mouth.”
