The End of the Flood · 4366 dagen geleden by Ad van den Ende
Genesis 8, 1-22
And God remembered Noah
and all the wild animals
and all the domestic animals
anf all the birds
and all the creeping animals
that were with him in the ark,
and God sent a wind over the earth,
and the water descended,
And the outlets of the deep
and the floodgates s of the heaven were closed,
and the rain stopped falling from the heaven.
And he water kept receding from the earth,
the water disappeared and went down
for hundred and fifty days.
And it came to rest, the boat,
in the seventh month,
on the seventeenth day of the month,
in the Ararat range.
The water kept going down
until the tenth month;
in the eleventh month,
on the first day of the month,
were seen the tops of the mountains.
And it happened after forty days
that Noah opened the window
of the boat, which he had made,
and he sent out the raven
to see if the water had gone down;
and, gone away, he did not return
until the water had dried up from the earth.
And he sent out the dove
after him
to see if the water had gone down
from the face of the earth.
And the dove, not finding
a restplace for his feet
flew back to him
to the boat,
because the water was on the whole face
of the whole earth,
and he reached out his hand
and seized her
and took her in
into himself on the boat.
And waiting another seven days
he again sent the dove
from the boat;
And she returned to him,
the dove, in the evening
and had a fresh olive leaf
in her beak,
and Noah knew
that the water had gone down from the earth.
And waiting another seven days
he once more sent out the dove,
and she did not exhibit to return
to him again.
And it happened
in the 601e year
ἐν τῇ ζωῇ τοῦ Νωε,
in the life of Noah,
in the first month,
on the frst day of the month,
the water was gone
ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς·
from the earth;
and Noah removed
the covering of the boat,
which he had made,
and he saw that the water was gone
from the face of the earth.
In the second month,
on the 27e day of the month
the earth was completely dry.
And the lord God spoke to Noah, saying:
Go out of the boat,
you and your wife
and your sons
and the wives of your sons with you
and all the wild animals
which are with you,
and all flesh, from birds
unto domestic animals
and every reptile
moving on the earth
lead them out with you;
and let them increase
and spread over the earth.
And Noah went out
and his wife
and his sons
and the wives of his sons with him,
and all the wild animals
and all the domestic animals
and every bird
and every reptile
moving on the earth
(in groups) of their own kind
went out of the boat.
And Noah built
an altar to the Lord
and took
(one) of all ritual domestic clean animals
and of all ritual clean birds
and burnt them as a sacrifice
on the altar.
The Lord God was pleased
by the odeur of the sacrifice,
And the Lord God said,
reflecting:
Never again will I put
the earth under a curse
on account of the deeds of the people,
for (I know that) the mind of the man is directed
zealous onto evil
from youth;
so never again I will agree
to destroy all living beings,
as I have done.
All days of the earth
seeding and reaping,
cold and heat,
summer and spring,
day and night
will not end.
